Ego isn’t a bad thing but it can either empower or dis-empower you. In the process of transforming our mindset, it's good if we should also understand the work of ego in our daily lives and see how can we cope with it.

Dr. Wayne is among the profound Author I ever know; in his book “The Power of Intention” he brings some interesting ideas about Ego.

Dr. Wayne points out that; “No one has ever seen the face of ego. It is like a ghost that we accept as a controlling influence in our lives. The ego is only an illusion, but a very influential one. Letting the ego-illusion become your identity can prevent you from knowing your true self — ego is when you Edge GOD Out. It’s the false idea of believing that you are what you have or what you do, is a backward way of assessing and living life.”

I clearly understand that we all want to live happily, be positive toward life, and even become an inspiration to others. In the process of doing that understanding how ego works can help us reach where we want to be.

Today, I would love sharing with you the 7 Steps from Dr. Wayne to Overcome Ego’s Holds on You

  1. Stop being offended; understand that the behavior of others shouldn’t be a reason to be immobilized as that which offends you only weakens you. Don’t allow the behavior of others to weaken you.
  2. Let go of your need to win; Ego loves to divide people into winners and losers. We are all one, let’s think win-win and support one another.
  3. Let go of your need to be right; Ego is the source of a lot of conflicts and dissensions because it pushes you in the direction of making other people wrong. Learn to value the difference wherever you are and give up your need to be right all the time.
  4. Let go of your need to be superior; True nobility isn’t about being better than someone else — it’s about being better than you used to be. Stay focused on your personal growth.
  5. Let go of your need to have more; the mantra of the ego is more. It’s never satisfied. No matter how much you achieve or acquire, your ego will insist that it isn’t enough. Don’t be driven by material things.
  6. Let go of identifying yourself on the basis of your achievements; God writes all the music, God sings all the songs, God builds all the buildings and God is the source of all your achievements. Be grateful that He lives within you and do the work.
  7. Let go of your reputation; your reputation is not located based on what others think of you. If it resides in the minds of others, just note this, “What Others Think of You, Is None of Your Business!” Just live your life.

This week or today, what actions are you willing to take to overcome ego’s that holds on you? I bet you clearly understand what is good for you.

Namaste.
